6 keys to success

Bill Bartman is also known as the Billionaire nobody knows, He’s kept a low profile but is one of America’s wealthiest individuals and has amassed massive wealth in his time.

I like Bill’s personable style and approach so I thought I’d share his 6 keys to success with you along with my own personal take on each of the 6 steps :)

1) Think Big!
Thinking big is imperative. There’s an old saying, If you shoot for the stars, even if you miss, you’ll land on the moon but if you shoot for the lamp post you miss and land on the pavement. Thinking big is one of the fundamentals to high achievement.

2) Believe in yourself.
Henry Ford said it the best. Whether you think you can or can’t, you’re right. In other words, your fundamental belief in yourself and your self image will determine the life you lead. If you want to create a 6 figure income, but your self belief and self image is in congruent with the goal then you’ll have a hard time manifesting that goal.

3) Share the vision
It has been said that Success is a Team sport. And what does TEAM stand for? Together, Everyone Achieves More! Sharing the vision isn’t about sharing your goals with everyone and anyone because that in itself can be a recipe for disaster. One of the problems most people have when they have a big goal or a big vision for their lives is that they share that goal or vision with someone who has a limited belief system or a small thinker and they then steal that goal or dream from you by telling you you’re a fool for even thinking of that goal. But sharing the vision is about building a dream team! Look for people who not only think big, but will support you and assist you in your quest for your goal. AsNapoleon Hill states in his book Think and Grow Rich, you need to form a MASTERMIND group.

4) Execute
Action… it’s what gets things done! Now I have to admit here that there have been many times where I’ve had amazing ideas but the reason they’ve not come into fruition is that for some reason or another, I’ve not taken Action. Action is probably the most important key to success. You can talk till you’re blue in the face about the goal but until the rubbermeets the road, Little will get done. As they say, the biggest obstacle between you and your goal will be your own front door.

5) Focus
Being Focused on your goal keeps you from getting side tracked.. focus is the catalyst for success. Focus is the one of the keys to tapping that path to infinite wisdom and as Bill Bartman says, he’s never met a successful person who chases two rabbits at the same time. I heard a great quote at a recent Toastmasters meeting on Focus. Be like a postage stamp… Stick to one thing until you get to your destination!

6) Never, Ever Give Up!
When you’ve got a big goal, I can guarantee you one thing, If you don’t come across obstacles or challenges that will test you, your goal simply isn’t that big. Obstacles are stepping stones to success and failure is just another step in the right direction to your goal. Your job is to go from failure to failure until you succeed. Imagine if Thomas Edison, who had thousands of failures until he invented thelight bulb , had decided to quit because he “Failed a few times”? Well I probably wouldn’t even be writing this blog post! So remember, as Winston Churchill Said, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP!

Until next time,

Success with Jack Canfield

Hi there everyone!

For most of you, Jack Canfield needs no introduction. He is one of the leading authorities in the field of personal development and human achievement and a best selling author. Most people have heard of Chicken soup for the soul or the success principles but if you haven’t Jack’s books are amazing!

I am on Jack’s mailing list and he sent an offer out this week which I just had to share. Don’t worry, there’s no financial commitment and I don’t make a penny promoting this either, I just thought it was an AMAZING website.

In today’s day and age, we see a lot of sites where you have to pay for subscription but Jack is giving free membership for a limited period of time. I’ve been doing the courses inside and they’re very good!

Here’s the link… http://www.successwithjack.com

Have fun and Keep shining!

It all starts with vision

What is it you want?

How do you want to live? What is it that will make you the most happiest… Regardless of where you are right now, the only way you will get to where you want to go is knowing exactly where it is you want to go!

A young Canadian comedian decided to pursue his dream of working in the movie industry and moved to Los Angeles, California. He would often get heckled at comedy clubs and when he would audition for small TV and movie parts, he would simply tell himself he was not good enough. He was now broke from moving to California, lonely and feeling the pain of rejection.
He would take his beat up car to the top of Mulholland drive in LA. A location famous in the movie industry.

On one night he, he decided that the vision he had for himself was that of a successful movie star… his vision saw him take out his chequebook and write a cheque for $10,000,000 for “acting services rendered”. His vision was so clear and he had a burning desire to achieve his vision that despite what others said about his career prospects as an actor in Hollywood, he refused to let other peoples perception of him ruin his vision… 5 years on, this comedian was receiving cheques well in excess of the $10,000,000 he had written out to himself on the top of Mulholland drive… Those cheques were all written out to one Jim Carey.

Regardless of where you find yourself right now, remember, it is imperative that you have a crystal clear vision of where you want to be! Most people haven’t a clue… they think they know but the vision is not a crystal clear one. Remember if it’s a mist in your mind it’s a fog out in the real world.

until next time,

The law of maintenance

I went for a run this morning which isn’t really that exciting news wise but from being a person who used to run 10 miles every other day to struggling to run 2 miles (I’ll get back to 10 miles!!!), It is special!

After the run, I did some stretches and some shadow boxing… When I was in the peak of my fighting career, I was flexible enough to kick someone even a few inches taller than myself in the face with my shin (In Muay Thai, the discipline I practiced and competed at, you make impact with your shins unlike most traditional martial arts where you make impact with the instep or ball of the foot)

Today, I struggled to get my foot above my own shoulder level… It made me realise that just achieving a goal is not enough. There are so many people out there that wish they could find the miracle cure to lose weight or win the lottery and get some serious money in their possession. I’m sure you would love to win the lottery too, as would I! but the reality is, in order to lose weight and keep it off, be flexible and remain flexible or get rich and stay rich, you’ve got to be able to maintain the goal you’ve achieved through consistent practice and a new level of thinking/lifestyle.

When I talk to people about losing weight (I’m an expert on this subject after going from borderline obesity to becoming a semi professional thai boxer hehe), I always say that weight loss isn’t about cutting calories until you lose weight, it’s about changing your entire lifestyle because the laws of thermogenesis state that the calories you consume that are not burned throughout the day are then stored as fat and as you lose weight, you’ll probably require less maintenance calories throughout your day anyway! (Unless you build a lot of muscle and lead an active lifestyle) and that is the reason most people fail at weight loss. The same applies to the laws of wealth, success and even flexibility… this one law states that whatever goal you achieve, you must develop the lifestyle and mindset to consistently maintain it. In fact, I’m going to call this the law of maintenance (Hey, Bob Proctor and Brian Tracy make up laws all the time so I can too! :p)

Until next time,

The story of the Pencil

The Story of the Pencil

Source:
Like the Flowing River by Paulo Coelho

A boy was watching his grandmother write a letter. At one point he asked:

‘Are you writing a story about what we’ve done? Is it a story about me?’
His grandmother stopped writing her letter and said to her grandson:
I am writing about you, actually, but more important than the words is the pencil I’m using. I hope you will be like this pencil when you grow up.’

Intrigued, the boy looked at the pencil. It didn’t seem very special.
‘But it’s just like any other pencil I’ve ever seen!’

‘That depends on how you look at things. It has five qualities which, if you manage to hang on to them, they will make you a person who is always at peace with the world.’

‘First quality: you are capable of great things, but you must never forget that there is a hand guiding your steps. We call that hand God, and He always guides us according to His will.’

‘Second quality: now and then, I have to stop writing and use a sharpener. That makes the pencil suffer a little, but afterward, it’s much sharper. So you, too, must learn to bear certain pains and sorrows, because they will make you a better person.

‘Third quality: the pencil always allows us to use an eraser to rub out any mistakes. This means that correcting something we did is not necessarily a bad thing; it helps to keep us on the road to justice.’

‘Fourth quality: what really matters in a pencil is not its wooden exterior, but the graphite inside. So always pay attention to what is happening inside you.’

‘Finally, the pencil’s fifth quality: it always leaves a mark. in just the same way, you should know that everything you do in life will leave a mark, so try to be conscious of that in your every action’

You have got the X Factor!

As I write this post, millions of people around the UK are watching 2 people who are making their dreams come true…

The show I’m referring to is the X-Factor, a singing contest that is the UK’s equivalent of American Idol.

This is sadly indicative of how things go… more people would rather watch than do… there are always more spectators than players… which would you rather be?

The truth is that you have something in common with the people who made it trough to the finals of the X Factor and that is you’ve been blessed with more potential than you know what to do with. The only difference is, the X Factor competitors combined that potential with passion and took action to make it happen. When you found that talent inside you that you’ve been blessed with, hone it with practice and work and make it your passion, you’ll be able to become world class!

But it will take commitment. Remember I said that success only cares that you’re 110% committed to it? You have to be the doer and not the watcher! let other people watch whilst you are doing, Let others talk whilst you take action but when all is said and done, you will be closer to achieving your full potential!

As one of the founders of the personal development industry, Earl Nightingale said, Lead the field!

Tribute to Jim Rohn

Greetings all.

Firstly, my apologies for not messaging you earlier. I have been very busy.

I was intending on sending out a message today of positivity however, I am going to send a short message in tribute of the father of modern personal development who today, on the 5th of December, passed away.

He was hailed as the greatest philosopher of our time and Jim Rohn lived his life as an exemplary model of a man who was not only committed to personal success but in also helping others achieve success.

Jim’s message had reached and impacted millions in his lifetime and impacted many to create lifechanging results in their lives whether financially or emotionally. He was highly respected by his peers and all of the great speakers of our time have attributed alot of what they’ve done to knowing Jim Rohn and to study under him.

Jim lost an 18 month battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis and there is a tribute page up on his website which can be found at http://tribute.jimrohn.com

His transition is a sad loss however, we must celebrate the life of a truly great man and make sure his legacy lives on.

At this time, my deepest condolences and thoughts are with Jim’s family, loved ones and close friends.

May he rest in peace.

I leave you now with some of my favourite quotes by Jim Rohn

“Don’t wish it were easier, wish that you were better”

“Success is not to be persued, it is to be attracted by the person you become”

“It is not the direction of the wind but the set of the sail that determines your destination”

“Formal education will make you a living, self education will make you a fortune”

Success only cares if…

I recently put this as my facebook Status

“SUCCESS IS NOT BUILT ON CONVENIENCE!!! - Success doesn’t care if you can’t find a baby sitter. It doesn’t care that X Factor is on. It doesn’t care that you’ve got a headache and it doesn’t care if the weather is rubbish!!! Success only cares that you…”

The only thing success cares about, in my opinion, is that you are 100% committed to it!

That means you do what needs to be done to bring you towards your goals whether you feel like it or not afterall commitment is having the discipline to do what you may not want to do and as if you’re married to your goals, you do not stray from the path you have chosen.

Bob Proctor says that you choose whether your day will be a success or a failure by making sure you do everything you need to do in any given day. If you do what needs to be done, your day is a success otherwise, it’s a failure and that again is about being committed to success and your goals.

So, if you’re serious about success, Take 100% Responsibility and commit to your goals!

Keep shining!
